SUMMARY
Nearly 80 years later after he landed on the Normandy beaches in 1944, Emile Mika was knighted and awarded the French Legion of Honor medal. He sat in a chair draped with American and French flags at his home in San Antonio as Valérie Baraban, the Houston-based Consul General, presented the honors.
